The supporters of Mattas booed when Guarda FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Humberto Gonçalves in the 39th minute really tested Inácio Bentes's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 57th minute Severino Pádua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Inácio Bentes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Caio Quintela, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
