Paulo Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Quinaz in the 10th minute of the match. After 10 played minutes Jaime Quinaz rounded Luso's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. Angelo Saldanha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricardo Prestes went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Luso's Paulo Santos got control of the ball when Laurentino Calado tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardo Prestes charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ricardo Prestes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Giraldes getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Angelo Saldanha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Alexandre Cerqueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Giraldes players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Luso were winning 1-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alcino Esteves to strike the kick off in the second half. Alcino Estevess short, quick shot in the 51stth minute got Angelo Saldanha to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
