The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rafael Queirós kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Leonel Águas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingos Sousa in the 10th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the game, Hélder Freitas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fato FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kappasul Sport Club the free kick. After 13 played minutes Fato FC got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Freitas. Francisco Ferro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomás Veiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gaspar Monsanto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Ferro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomás Veiga's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. After a rather tough play, Fato FC's Domingos Sousa got a free kick in the 30th minute. Tomás Veigas short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Francisco Ferro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Alexandre Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. If Tomás Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Joaquim Azevedo fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fato FC's protests and gave Joaquim Azevedo a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of Fato FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Kappasul Sport Club:s goal. The referee gave Kappasul Sport Club a penalty, 43 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Quintino Amaral, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Fato FC's Francisco Ferro. 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hermes Baptista during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hermes Baptista hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomás Veiga to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Fato FC's goal looked a bit too open when Porfírio Durães came free, but Francisco Ferro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonel Águas made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Pedro Guerreiro sent off a good shot on target. Tomás Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Francisco Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Porfírio Durães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Fato FC's zone, Tomás Veiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Francisco Ferro came out of the goal and Tomás Veiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd minute Cristiano Bacelar suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Kappasul Sport Club's José Madeira was substituted for Cristiano Bacelar. After a rather tough play, Fato FC's Domingos Sousa got a free kick in the 74th minute. Francisco Ferro came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Kappasul Sport Club's Joaquim Pimentel. But to his dismay, Joaquim Pimentel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Francisco Ferro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Pimentel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francisco Ferro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomás Veiga went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. 97 minutes into the game, one of Fato FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Kappasul Sport Club had played much better football throughout.
