Guilherme Pegado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Josué Sales's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Pinzio's Lourenço Vidal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvestre Regalado in the 21st minute of play. Pinzio's Josué Sales got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, CD Nacional's Fernando Henriques got a free kick in the 26th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of CD Nacional:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pinzio:s goal. 37 minutes into the game, Silvestre Regalado recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lourenço Vidal. Silvestre Regalado showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After 43rd play minutes Josué Sales shot 1-2, a short shot which went by Guilherme Pegado and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience was convinced that Juvenal Rego's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guilherme Pegado was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. 47 minutes into the game, Fernando Henriques was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CD Nacional's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pinzio the free kick. After a rather tough play, CD Nacional's Fernando Henriques got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half Pinzio were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Silvestre Regalado to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Pinzio's Aristides Ávila got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute of the match Matias Severiano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lourenço Vidal showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 54 minutes, Santiago Curado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pinzio and the CD Nacional players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th minute, Santiago Curado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Juvenal Rego hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Tarcísio Paredes hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Pinzio defense, Elias Teofilio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lourenço Vidal. The Pinzio fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lourenço Vidal should have stopped the shot. When CD Nacional's Silvestre Regalado in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pinzio's goalie prevented a goal. Guilherme Pegado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Josué Sales in the 75th minute of play. Josué Sales received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Guilherme Pegado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Elias Teofilio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Pinzio's Aristides Ávila got a free kick in the 89th minute. When Matias Severiano came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the CD Nacional fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matias Severiano couldn't finish the play. When Carlos Pádua fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pinzio's protests and gave Carlos Pádua a yellow card for diving instead. After 91 played minutes Pinzio got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Pádua. In the 92nd minute Silvestre Regalado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lourenço Vidal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 minutes Pinzio's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Matias Severiano who took care of the corner kick. When the match was over Pinzio could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than CD Nacional throughout the match.
