Rogério Sá took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adélio Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 5th match minute, Mancos Unidos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesualdo Calçada to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Mancos Unidos's zone, Jacinto Sanches stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vasco Pinheiro came out of the goal and Jacinto Sanches tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Mancos Unidos getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Jesualdo Calçada hit a great ball. After 18 minutes, Albérico Malta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the VALE DO PESO FC and the Mancos Unidos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Albérico Malta hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. The supporters of VALE DO PESO FC booed when Mancos Unidos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Ponte didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mancos Unidos's goalkeeper Vasco Pinheiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Mancos Unidos getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Carlos Zarco hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Álvaro Paixão managed to get in a good position for a shot. VALE DO PESO FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Álvaro Paixão was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vasco Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jacinto Sanches took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vasco Pinheiro. Vasco Pinheiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Vasco Pinheiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermínio Sobral in the 35th minute of play. After 36 played minutes VALE DO PESO FC got a freekick which was hit by Álvaro Paixão. After a rather tough play, Mancos Unidos's Ricardo Ponte got a free kick in the 40th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacinto Sanches stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of VALE DO PESO FC booed when Mancos Unidos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Zarco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 67 played minutes VALE DO PESO FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacinto Sanches. Rogério Sá stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricardo Ponte's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Hermínio Sobral kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Vasco Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacinto Sanches, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. 87 minutes into the match, Jacinto Sanches had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vasco Pinheiro. Mancos Unidos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jacinto Sanches was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Palmiro Lencastre kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Álvaro Paixão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The VALE DO PESO FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Mancos Unidos's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
