Spectators: 7972 (Terracing: 5980, Seating: 1834, VIP seats: 158) Lázaro Azevedo made the kick off and thus started the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Avelino Henriques managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Cortinhas's supporters rose to their feet, but Avelino Henriques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julião Vidigal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristiano Caneira during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SC Cortinhas booed when NewBarcel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Caneira didn't get a good kick on the ball. André Carneiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julião Vidigal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Julião Vidigal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Álvaro Antas in the 12th minute. SC Cortinhas's Timóteo Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leal Aires in the 16th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Carneiro got free with Julião Vidigal in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julião Vidigal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Antas, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Álvaro Valente hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. With his leg Julião Vidigal managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when SC Cortinhas's Lázaro Azevedo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. André Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julião Vidigal having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Álvaro Antas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julião Vidigal was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Lázaro Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, NewBarcel's Julião Vidigal got control of the ball when Lázaro Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of SC Cortinhas booed when NewBarcel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Nascimento didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lázaro Azevedo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julião Vidigal came out and tried to block the shot, but Lázaro Azevedo slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 34th minute. With a little luck, NewBarcel's Julião Vidigal got control of the ball when Lázaro Azevedo tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Lázaro Azevedo sped through NewBarcel's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julião Vidigal. NewBarcel's Valentim Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lázaro Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julião Vidigal having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Januário Vieira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Timóteo Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. André Carneiro took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julião Vidigal. Julião Vidigal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lázaro Azevedo in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julião Vidigal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st minute, André Carneiro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Cortinhas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. When Lázaro Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the SC Cortinhas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lázaro Azevedo couldn't finish the play. 73 minutes into the match, NewBarcel's goal looked a bit too open when Lázaro Azevedo came free, but Julião Vidigal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Lázaro Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julião Vidigal was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. 79 minutes into the match, Álvaro Antas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julião Vidigal. NewBarcel's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Álvaro Antas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. SC Cortinhas made a substitution. Gusmão França replaced Álvaro Antas. 83 minutes into the match, NewBarcel's goal looked a bit too open when Gusmão França came free, but Julião Vidigal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julião Vidigal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Carneiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute of the match Rubim Quintanilha sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julião Vidigal skillfully saved the ball. After 89 minutes of play, SC Cortinhas's Lázaro Azevedo made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julião Vidigal was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC Cortinhas made a substitution. Joaquim Guerreiro replaced André Carneiro. When the referee ended the match the SC Cortinhas players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
