Paulo Lima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 24 played minutes Fenix got a freekick which was hit by Aquilino Freitas. After a defensive mix-up in Fenix's zone, Alexandre Torcato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Lima came out of the goal and Alexandre Torcato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute Hipólito Amado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David De Boeck had several of the Fenix's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 36 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Paulo Lima as he didn't even see the shot coming. Fenix's Paulo Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hipólito Amado in the 38th minute of play. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fenix's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. David De Boeck was slow to take the kick. During this time Beira Mar SC's players had a chance to rest. Paulo Lima was a little too slow when David De Boeck got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 41st minute. The score was now 3-0. With a little luck, Fenix's Paulo Lima got control of the ball when David De Boeck tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sálvio Vilas Boas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Fiúza in the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David De Boeck to strike the kick off in the second half. Alexandre Torcato scored 4-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Lima, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. David De Boeck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Lima having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Fenix's Bento Taborda got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 65th minute, Bento Taborda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hipólito Amado in the 72nd minute of play forced Fenix's goalkeeper Paulo Lima to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Beira Mar SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fenix the free kick. Aquilino Freitas might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sálvio Vilas Boas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aquilino Freitas ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, David De Boeck put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Paulo Lima.
