A collision led to Goais getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Gastão Rodrigues hit a great ball. In the 8th minute of the match Howard Barclay shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nuno Sequeira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Nuno Sequeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeferino Avelar, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. After having played for 12 minutes, Jerónimo Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. União Caparica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerónimo Pinheiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. António Viegas hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Gastão Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute, União Caparica's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jorge Fiúza fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Sidónio Maltez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gastão Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 25 minutes into the game, União Caparica's Artur Horta nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nuno Sequeira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artur Horta in the 30th minute of play forced Goais's goalkeeper Nuno Sequeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, União Caparica's goal looked a bit too open when Gastão Rodrigues came free, but Sidónio Maltez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 52nd minute Hélder Quintas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Sequeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nuno Sequeira had great luck who in the 53rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Artur Horta from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After 59 minutes, Jorge Pais mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the União Caparica and the Goais players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of União Caparica:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Goais:s goal. In the 60th minute there was a penalty for Goais. Samuel Vale stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sidónio Maltez. 1-3. After 68 minutes of play, União Caparica's Artur Horta made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nuno Sequeira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Howard Barclay shot from long distance in the 73rd minute, but Nuno Sequeira was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. 75 minutes into the game, Hélder Quintas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nuno Sequeira. Hélder Quintas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. Artur Horta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. António Viegas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Sequeira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. In the 88th minute Jacinto Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidónio Maltez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidónio Maltez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Fiúza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jerónimo Pinheiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. União Caparica's Sidónio Maltez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gastão Rodrigues in the 96th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by António Viegas during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 97th match minute, União Caparica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Viegas to maneuver through the defense. The União Caparica players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
