Sidónio Maltez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Tunander in the 9th minute of play forced União Caparica's goalkeeper Sidónio Maltez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artur Horta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dreas Goffyn having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Artur Horta in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dreas Goffyn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. António Viegas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Dreas Goffyn made a huge save. After 16 played minutes União Caparica got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Quintas. Albert Karapetkov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Dreas Goffyn made a huge save. PaxTeam FC's Dreas Goffyn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save PaxTeam FC from getting a goal against them. In the 24th play minute Albert Karapetkov came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Dreas Goffyn. 1-1. 27 minutes into the match, PaxTeam FC's goalkeeper Dreas Goffyn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hélder Quintas. Sidónio Maltez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingvar Tunander in the 28th minute of play. PaxTeam FC's Dreas Goffyn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Horta in the 30th minute of play. After 33 played minutes PaxTeam FC got a freekick which was hit by Gastão Neves. 43 minutes into the match, Ingvar Tunander notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of União Caparica's Sidónio Maltez. Sidónio Maltez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The PaxTeam FC fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when PaxTeam FC's Ingvar Tunander looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Raul Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidónio Maltez having to interfere. Dreas Goffyn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artur Horta in the 56th minute of the match. The PaxTeam FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dreas Goffyn should have stopped the shot. In the 83rd minute Artur Horta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dreas Goffyn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ingvar Tunander might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sidónio Maltez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ingvar Tunander ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ingvar Tunander in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sidónio Maltez saved União Caparica from getting behind. Ingvar Tunander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidónio Maltez having to interfere. In the 94th minute of the match, Ingvar Tunander tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sidónio Maltez saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After taking down the ball on PaxTeam FC's corner Ingvar Tunander fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sidónio Maltez quite easily take care of the ball. When the match was over PaxTeam FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than União Caparica throughout the match.
