Adélio Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alípio Lemos, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norberto Fraga got free with Adélio Vaz in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Sabugueiro's goalkeeper Adélio Vaz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 16 minutes into the game, Jacob Veríssimo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. The Homer FC fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when Homer FC's Jacob Veríssimo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jacob Veríssimo to make the kick off. Hamilton Fontoura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 53rd minute, Alípio Lemos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adélio Vaz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernard Pieprz's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Adriano Amado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Zarco Couto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 played minutes SC Sabugueiro got a freekick which was hit by Dimas Calheiros. SC Sabugueiro's Hamilton Fontoura was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 91st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Adriano Amado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Dimas Calheiros fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Sabugueiro's protests and gave Dimas Calheiros a yellow card for diving instead. Adélio Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacob Veríssimo in the 97th minute of the match. Hermenegildo Corte-Real hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Homer FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
