The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute Alexandre Ponte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Paixão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexandre Ponte could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Jacinto Paixão made a huge save. In the 11th minute, Josué Moniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Alexandre Ponte in the 13th minute really tested Jacinto Paixão's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Li Hong Qi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Burkhard Bieberstein took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Jacinto Paixão to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Clube Desportivo Benfica booed when EM PAUSA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Malheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the EM PAUSA defense, Li Hong Qi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacinto Paixão. The EM PAUSA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacinto Paixão should have stopped the shot. 26 minutes into the match, Burkhard Bieberstein notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of EM PAUSA's Jacinto Paixão. Jacinto Paixão was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by EM PAUSA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alexandre Ponte was slow to take the kick. During this time Clube Desportivo Benfica's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of EM PAUSA's goalie and right to Li Hong Qi. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. EM PAUSA's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 32 minutes into the game, Clube Desportivo Benfica's Eriberto Donatello nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacinto Paixão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. EM PAUSA's Jacinto Paixão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save EM PAUSA from getting a goal against them. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hamilton Neto was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Li Hong Qi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jacinto Paixão. EM PAUSA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Li Hong Qi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-0. EM PAUSA's Jacinto Paixão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Louis Fragou in the 61st minute of play. Jacinto Paixão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eriberto Donatello, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After 64th play minutes Burkhard Bieberstein shot 11-0, a short shot which went by Jacinto Paixão and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 67th minute, Li Hong Qi made a precise shot to the right of Jacinto Paixão. EM PAUSA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 12-0. Burkhard Bieberstein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacinto Paixão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Li Hong Qi in the 72nd minute of play. Jacinto Paixão made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 16-0. When the referee ended the match the Clube Desportivo Benfica players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
