The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by António Viegas during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, União Caparica's António Viegas got a free kick in the 7th minute. Sidónio Maltez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubim Peralta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th match minute, União Caparica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albert Karapetkov to maneuver through the defense. Albert Karapetkov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. União Caparica's Sidónio Maltez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodoro Padilha in the 20th minute of play. Albert Karapetkov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erasmo Fernendo having to interfere. António Viegas was shown his second yellow card after 29 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 30th match minute, União Caparica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Viegas to maneuver through the defense. Manhente FC's Erasmo Fernendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albert Karapetkov in the 38th minute of play. Howard Barclay charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Howard Barclay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Howard Barclay kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teodoro Padilha to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Teodoro Padilha left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Manhente FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 61st minute, Manhente FC's Teodoro Padilha dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Karapetkov in the 67th minute of play forced Manhente FC's goalkeeper Erasmo Fernendo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to União Caparica getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Artur Horta hit a great ball. After some careless play in the União Caparica defense, Teodoro Padilha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sidónio Maltez. The União Caparica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sidónio Maltez should have stopped the shot. After 80 minutes, Hélder Quintas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the União Caparica and the Manhente FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st match minute, União Caparica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélder Quintas to maneuver through the defense.
