Aveiro FC's Silvano Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Miguel Milio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Gouveia having to interfere. When Mogadourense A. C.'s Teófilo Freire shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gil Gouveia came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mogadourense A. C. reached it. In the 23rd minute Miguel Milio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Gouveia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moisés Monsanto got free with Gil Gouveia in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gil Gouveia acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 39th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Moisés Monsanto. After having played for 41 minutes, Miguel Milio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mogadourense A. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Milio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anibal Ferrando kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Gaspar Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Moisés Monsanto made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Aveiro FC getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Mariano Taveira hit a great ball. In the 52nd minute of the match Moisés Monsanto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gil Gouveia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gil Gouveia came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Mogadourense A. C.'s Hermes Bezerra. But to his dismay, Hermes Bezerra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Gil Gouveia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miguel Milio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 58 minutes into the game, Pedro Lage was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mogadourense A. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aveiro FC the free kick. In the 59th minute, Pedro Lage hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gil Gouveia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Milio in the 61st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Aveiro FC defense, Hermes Bezerra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gil Gouveia. The Aveiro FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gil Gouveia should have stopped the shot. Gil Gouveia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moisés Monsanto, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. In the 68th minute Hermes Bezerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Gouveia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Aveiro FC's Silvano Simões got a free kick in the 68th minute. The supporters of Mogadourense A. C. booed when Aveiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvano Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermes Bezerra in the 75th minute of play forced Aveiro FC's goalkeeper Gil Gouveia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Aveiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Moisés Monsanto came free, but Gil Gouveia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gil Gouveia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hermes Bezerra in the 79th minute of the match. But to his dismay, Hermes Bezerra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mogadourense A. C. fully deserved thier win.
