After 38 played minutes Rebordosa AC got a freekick which was hit by Anton Wallin. Luís Trigueiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Diamantino Monsanto. Rebordosa AC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Diamantino Monsanto had great luck who in the 45thth minute grab hold of the ball when Inácio Abrantes from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rafael Quirze stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Rafael Quirze's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abílio Varanda was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. In the 81st minute, Ricardo Santos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 87 minutes, Irinel Pelin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rafael Quirze struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Abílio Varanda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rebordosa AC. When Ronaldo Águas fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rebordosa AC's protests and gave Ronaldo Águas a yellow card for diving instead. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Aveleiras were victorious despite being under pressure from Rebordosa AC for much of the match.
