Spectators: 7538 (Terracing: 5600, Seating: 1838, VIP seats: 100) R.M fc's Jorge Quintanilha started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Inácio Henriques might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabiano Aveiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Inácio Henriques ran back to his position shaking his head. Fabiano Aveiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inácio Henriques in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 22nd match minute, R.M fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacarias Bombardeiro to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aquilino Gois during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Aquilino Gois hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. In the 25th match minute, R.M fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Quintanilha to maneuver through the defense. Albertino Assis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Salvador Lameiras's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Jorge Quintanilha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Jorge Quintanilha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Albertino Assis was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Jorge Quintanilha struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Albertino Assis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for R.M fc. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dário Rodrigues during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Santos FC's Dário Rodrigues got a free kick in the 40th minute. In the 47th minute, Zacarias Bombardeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Inácio Henriques to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the game, one of R.M fc:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Inácio Henriques in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabiano Aveiro saved R.M fc from getting behind. 66 minutes into the match, Jorge Quintanilha had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Albertino Assis. Santos FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Quintanilha was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. The supporters of Santos FC booed when R.M fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Honrio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Amável Assis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Amável Assis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabiano Aveiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 78thth minute of the game Jorge Quintanilha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santos FC's Albertino Assis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge Quintanilha in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albertino Assis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 81 minutes, Jorge Quintanilha made it 6-1 with a short kick to the right side. Santos FC's Albertino Assis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Santos FC! The supporters of Santos FC booed when R.M fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Inácio Henriques in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabiano Aveiro saved R.M fc from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 97 minutes, Inácio Henriques took a quick shot and it went in 7-2 without a chance for Fabiano Aveiro to make any attempt to save it. Fabiano Aveiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Henriques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the Santos FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for R.M fc.
