Tobias Nascimento's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albertino Assis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute of the match Pau Nas Canelas got a corner. Santos FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Xavier Sabrosa ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Pau Nas Canelas's corner Xavier Sabrosa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Albertino Assis quite easily take care of the ball. In the 14th minute Palmiro Picasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertino Assis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tobias Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Albertino Assis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Nascimento in the 16th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Tobias Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquim Baía might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Albertino Assis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joaquim Baía ran back to his position shaking his head. After 25 minutes of play, Pau Nas Canelas's Tobias Nascimento made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Albertino Assis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Joaquim Baía kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Santos FC defense, Tobias Nascimento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Albertino Assis. The Santos FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Albertino Assis should have stopped the shot. Albertino Assis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Palmiro Picasso in the 41st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Palmiro Picasso in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertino Assis saved Santos FC from getting behind. Igor Morais kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 53 minutes, Palmiro Picasso made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Santos FC's Albertino Assis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Pau Nas Canelas booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Morais didn't get a good kick on the ball. Palmiro Picasso took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Albertino Assis. Albertino Assis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. If Tobias Nascimento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gentil Miranda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angélico Rodrigues in the 72nd minute of the match. The supporters of Pau Nas Canelas booed when Santos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Morais didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santos FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Tobias Nascimento scored to the left of an out of position Albertino Assis, making the score, 0-8. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tobias Nascimento in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertino Assis saved Santos FC from getting behind. In the 79th minute, Pau Nas Canelas's Palmiro Picasso dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-9. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Oséas Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pau Nas Canelas's supporters rose to their feet, but Oséas Moraes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albertino Assis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Tobias Nascimento fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pau Nas Canelas's protests and gave Tobias Nascimento a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Pau Nas Canelas's Tobias Nascimento got a free kick in the 84th minute. When Lech Biraga fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pau Nas Canelas's protests and gave Lech Biraga a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Santos FC booed when Pau Nas Canelas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lech Biraga didn't get a good kick on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Pau Nas Canelas's Tobias Nascimento sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Albertino Assis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Palmiro Picasso in the 89th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Albertino Assis kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-10 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Palmiro Picasso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Pau Nas Canelas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
