Cândido Ramires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Ferraz having to interfere. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Armando Calheiros notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Borneiros Gaia F.C.'s Wu Yong. Wu Yong was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Balurcos getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Elias Rodrigues hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Cândido Ramires managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borneiros Gaia F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Cândido Ramires was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mário Ferraz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wu Yong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Calheiros in the 41st minute of the match. Mário Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cândido Ramires, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Donato Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Donato Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Adelino Madruga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Zacarias Cerqueira took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 52nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mário Ferraz. Balurcos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Borneiros Gaia F.C.'s Cândido Ramires got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 59th minute of the match Zacarias Cerqueira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mário Ferraz skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Balurcos getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Adão Vigário hit a great ball. Wu Yong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Donato Medeiros in the 69th minute of the match. Wu Yong came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Balurcos's Donato Medeiros. But to his dismay, Donato Medeiros quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Adelino Madruga hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. After 80 played minutes Balurcos got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Aveiro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cândido Ramires in the 81st minute of play forced Balurcos's goalkeeper Mário Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 played minutes, Borneiros Gaia F.C.'s Cristi Ronaldo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mário Ferraz came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Borneiros Gaia F.C. reached it. Cândido Ramires struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Mário Ferraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borneiros Gaia F.C.. Borneiros Gaia F.C.'s Wu Yong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Calheiros in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Jedrzej Pysz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mário Ferraz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Wu Yong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Calheiros in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Balurcos eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
