Sandro Paredes kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Esmoriz's Valentim Mourinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexandre Poças in the 10th minute of play. When Alexandre Fiúza, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 12 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Valentim Mourinho was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 14 minutes into the match, Esmoriz's goalkeeper Valentim Mourinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rui Amaro. In the 17th match minute, Esmoriz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Furtado to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute, Filipe Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rui Amaro in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valentim Mourinho saved Esmoriz from getting behind. In the 36th minute, Alexandre Fiúza made a precise shot to the right of Valentim Mourinho. Esmoriz's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Esmoriz's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Alexandre Poças 44 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jordão Lamego stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Alexandre Poças got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58th minute, Alexandre Moita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Valentim Mourinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. After 64 played minutes Esmoriz got a freekick which was hit by Juvenal Colaço. Valentim Mourinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Amaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Alex Tieri hit a great ball. Rui Amaro scored 8-0 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Valentim Mourinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alexandrense's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
