Noel Coutinho made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Teófilo Sabrosa sent off a good shot on target. 22 minutes into the game, PIQÕES FC's Valentim Oliveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Noel Coutinho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 30 minutes into the game, Carlos Lessa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Cyryl Siwek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lourenço Pereira succeeded in the game's 34th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. Valentim Oliveira made in the 37th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Funchal e Benfica's Francisco Soveral. Cyryl Siwek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Lessa in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Funchal e Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Lourenço Pereira came free, but Noel Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Teófilo Sabrosa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 59thth minute of the game Teófilo Sabrosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Funchal e Benfica's Noel Coutinho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 80th minute Francisco Soveral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cyryl Siwek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lourenço Pereira came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the PIQÕES FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lourenço Pereira couldn't finish the play.
