Hipólito Neto scored 1-0 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Noel Coutinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 9th minute Hipólito Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Coutinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 10 minutes Funchal e Benfica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Francisco Menezes who took care of the corner kick. Tiago Estrela hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute, Hipólito Neto fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 14 minutes into the match, Funchal e Benfica's goalkeeper Noel Coutinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gio Moreno. The crowd rose to their feet as Algoso Warriors's Hipólito Neto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Noel Coutinho. That made the score 2-0 after 15 minutes of play. After some careless play in the Algoso Warriors defense, Carlos Lessa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Galvão. The Algoso Warriors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Galvão should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Funchal e Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Hipólito Neto came free, but Noel Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute Hipólito Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Coutinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Funchal e Benfica's Noel Coutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hipólito Neto in the 27th minute of play. Noel Coutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hipólito Neto in the 31st minute of the match. Gio Moreno scored 3-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Noel Coutinho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Funchal e Benfica's Noel Coutinho got control of the ball when Gio Moreno tried to sneak it across the goal line. Noel Coutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hipólito Neto in the 45th minute of play. After 48 minutes, Bento Soares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Funchal e Benfica and the Algoso Warriors players grew even worse after the yellow card.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Lessa to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Funchal e Benfica's goal looked a bit too open when Hipólito Neto came free, but Noel Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Funchal e Benfica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. When the match clock showed 77 minutes, the score became 7-1 when Gio Moreno sped through Funchal e Benfica's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Noel Coutinho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hipólito Neto in the 80th minute of play forced Funchal e Benfica's goalkeeper Noel Coutinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Noel Coutinho came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Algoso Warriors's Hipólito Neto. But to his dismay, Hipólito Neto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-1. In the 87th minute, Gio Moreno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Noel Coutinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-1. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Funchal e Benfica's goalkeeper Noel Coutinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Noel Coutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José San Martín, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Luís Galvão made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Soveral in the 93rd minute. Alexandre Mourato kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After 96 minutes of play, Algoso Warriors's José San Martín made it 10-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Noel Coutinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Algoso Warriors had won after a very even match.
