The audience was convinced that Valentim Carreira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Romão Padilha was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentim Carreira in the 77th minute of play forced LFC's goalkeeper Romão Padilha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romão Padilha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato Corte-Real in the 94th minute of the match. Alfredo Amaro charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alfredo Amaro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to S. L. Sousel getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Alfredo Amaro hit a great ball. S. L. Sousel walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
