After 15 played minutes Valcerto got a freekick which was hit by Caetano Quintanilha. Gentil Vital made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Gaspar in the 18th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valentim Carreira in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gentil Vital prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gentil Vital showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Boaventura, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renato Corte-Real in the 23rd minute of play forced Valcerto's goalkeeper Gentil Vital to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Valentim Carreira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Gentil Vital was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Valentim Carreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Gentil Vital tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gentil Vital didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valentim Carreira went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Valcerto's Gentil Vital played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermes Travassos in the 32nd minute of play. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 1-4 when André Gaspar sped through Valcerto's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gentil Vital. Valcerto's Gentil Vital played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentim Carreira in the 40th minute of play. Renato Corte-Real took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gentil Vital. Gentil Vital dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. After 45 minutes of play, S. L. Sousel's Renato Corte-Real made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gentil Vital was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half S. L. Sousel were leading 1-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Valentim Carreira made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, André Gaspar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredo Amaro got free with Gentil Vital in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gentil Vital came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by S. L. Sousel's Valentim Carreira. But to his dismay, Valentim Carreira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-7. Éder Borba could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Gentil Vital made a huge save. Valcerto's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Renato Corte-Real scored to the left of an out of position Gentil Vital, making the score, 1-8. Valcerto's Gentil Vital played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentim Carreira in the 66th minute of play. André Gaspar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gentil Vital read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Gentil Vital showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renato Corte-Real in the 85th minute of the match. 89 minutes into the match, Valentim Carreira notched a goal, 1-12, to the right of Valcerto's Gentil Vital. Gentil Vital was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tomás Laureano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Assis having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Valentim Carreira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Gentil Vital managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when S. L. Sousel's Renato Corte-Real fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. S. L. Sousel's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
