Spectators: 7912 (Terracing: 6036, Seating: 1851, VIP seats: 25) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jaime Costa started the match with the kick off. Thanks to some nice moves Pablo Sarabia could shoot a difficult shot in the 4th minute, which Caio Taveira however easily saved by the left post. Avelino Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 7 minutes into the match, Marialva S.C.'s Pablo Sarabia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Caio Taveira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 8th minute, Silvestre Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the game, Manuel Ruas recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Caio Taveira. Manuel Ruas showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manuel Ruas in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Caio Taveira saved SLbenfica from getting behind. SLbenfica were awarded a corner in the 17th minute after Marialva S.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hermínio Parente took the corner. Caio Taveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Ruas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Manuel Ruas put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Caio Taveira. If Evelio Lastur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the game, Cândido Ribeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marialva S.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SLbenfica the free kick. After 36 played minutes Marialva S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Cândido Ribeiro. In the 40thth minute of the game Manuel Ruas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SLbenfica's Caio Taveira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fernando Tinoco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Costa, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Cândido Ribeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Caio Taveira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th match minute, SLbenfica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregório Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Manuel Ruas was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, Manuel Ruas notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of SLbenfica's Caio Taveira. Caio Taveira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Caio Taveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Ruas, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Marialva S.C. were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after SLbenfica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ricardo Quaresma took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Ricardo Quaresma got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Caio Taveira quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Caio Taveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Ruas's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. The audience was convinced that Manuel Ruas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caio Taveira was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. In the 79th minute, Manuel Ruas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Caio Taveira was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Marialva S.C. made a substitution. Ernst Günther replaced Evelio Lastur. Caio Taveira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Ruas's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 87th match minute, SLbenfica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Henriques to maneuver through the defense. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Marialva S.C. fully deserved thier win.
