A collision led to Brasil getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Armindo Salgado hit a great ball. If Jaime Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olívio Calçada was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Jaime Costa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 29 minute of play.
