Result 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nuno Cunha in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adão Leite saved SC Sopegal from getting behind. After a rather tough play, SC Sopegal's Américo Serpa got a free kick in the 21st minute. SC Sopegal's Adão Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermínio Bomba in the 22nd minute of play. Laurentino Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerd-Peter Meiswinkel having to interfere. Ademar Palma hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. SC Sopegal's Adão Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Cunha in the 32nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Nuno Cunha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adão Leite was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nuno Cunha made a kick off. Ricardo Valente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adão Leite having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Nuno Cunha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Adão Leite. That made the score 1-3 in the 60 minute of play. A collision led to SC Sopegal getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Hermano Carrasqueira hit a great ball. Hermínio Bomba's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adão Leite read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Valadas booed when SC Sopegal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristóvão Zarco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute Hermínio Bomba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adão Leite saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 76 minutes into the match, Valadas's Takeshi Schims sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adão Leite narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
