In the 11th match minute, Pelosiro Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hermenegildo Vidigal to maneuver through the defense. 16 minutes into the match, Pelosiro Team's goal looked a bit too open when Donato Fiúza came free, but Israel Espírito Santo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pelosiro Team's Israel Espírito Santo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Pelosiro Team from getting a goal against them. Nicolau Caldas charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nicolau Caldas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Sopegal booed when Pelosiro Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolau Caldas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute Donato Fiúza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Israel Espírito Santo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristóvão Zarco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Israel Espírito Santo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the game, Lázaro Frois recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Israel Espírito Santo. Lázaro Frois showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. When SC Sopegal's Donato Fiúza in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Pelosiro Team's goalie prevented a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Donato Fiúza made the kick off in the second half. Paulo Cardoso took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Israel Espírito Santo. Israel Espírito Santo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 59 minutes into the game, Joaquim Serpa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Israel Espírito Santo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 63 minutes into the match, Donato Fiúza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Israel Espírito Santo. Pelosiro Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donato Fiúza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Israel Espírito Santo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo Cardoso went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. 73 minutes into the match, Donato Fiúza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Israel Espírito Santo. Pelosiro Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donato Fiúza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexandrino Garcez during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Israel Espírito Santo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Cardoso in the 78th minute of the match. Israel Espírito Santo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerónimo Durães, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. The SC Sopegal fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when SC Sopegal's Donato Fiúza looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 89 minutes, Armindo Menezes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pelosiro Team and the SC Sopegal players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute, Armindo Menezes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donato Fiúza hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SC Sopegal fully deserved thier win.
