Sul's Ivo Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Gueifão in the 8th minute of play. Teófilo Ferrão made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Ricardo Carneiro sent off a good shot on target. Ivo Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leal Seabra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Sul defense, Leal Seabra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivo Prestes. The Sul fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivo Prestes should have stopped the shot. 22 minutes into the match, Real Marim's goalkeeper Teófilo Ferrão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Carneiro. Pinto da Costa struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Teófilo Ferrão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sul. 26 minutes into the match, Real Marim's goalkeeper Teófilo Ferrão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ricardo Carneiro. The referee showed Olívio Nóbrega the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 43rd minute, Olívio Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leal Seabra made a kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leal Seabra in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivo Prestes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Teófilo Ferrão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ricardo Carneiro in the 53rd minute of the match. When Sul's Ricardo Carneiro in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Basílio Vaz fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sul's protests and gave Basílio Vaz a yellow card for diving instead. Ivo Prestes was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ivo Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juraj Kelemen, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Gueifão in the 92nd minute of play forced Sul's goalkeeper Ivo Prestes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd match minute, Real Marim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudemiro Tavares to maneuver through the defense.
