In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Pomaraco's goalkeeper Roberto Bernardes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 6 played minutes Sporting Vila Facaia got a freekick which was hit by Nélson Valente. Idalécio Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Sporting Vila Facaia's Homero Carrasqueira got control of the ball when Sabino Teles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sabino Teles's late challenge caught a Sporting Vila Facaia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alfredo Júdice to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Alfredo Júdice left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Pomaraco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Roberto Bernardes was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Bento Padilha capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bento Padilha really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. Roberto Bernardes made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Idalécio Araújo sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurentino Ruas in the 62nd minute of play forced Sporting Vila Facaia's goalkeeper Homero Carrasqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to SC Pomaraco getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Norberto Ferreira hit a great ball. Bento Padilha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Roberto Bernardes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
