Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Alfredo Júdice started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Saúl França's late challenge caught a SC Pomaraco's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Graciano Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Bernardes having to interfere. Norberto Ferreira hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Saúl França recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Estrela in the 11th minute of play forced SC Pomaraco's goalkeeper Roberto Bernardes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, Rui Estrela ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Roberto Bernardes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Roberto Bernardes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Graciano Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roberto Bernardes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of António Cerqueira's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 20th minute of the match Vaiamonte FC got a corner. SC Pomaraco's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alexandrino Sabrosa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Afonso Leitão tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Roberto Bernardes. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 20th minute. Hélder Vasques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norberto Ferreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Graciano Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 26th minute, António Cerqueira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 28th minute Graciano Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Bernardes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Estrela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Roberto Bernardes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the SC Pomaraco defense, António Cerqueira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roberto Bernardes. The SC Pomaraco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roberto Bernardes should have stopped the shot. 36 minutes into the match, António Cerqueira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roberto Bernardes. SC Pomaraco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that António Cerqueira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rui Estrela stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leonardo Borges charged in rather forcefully in the 50th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonardo Borges the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 51 played minutes SC Pomaraco got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Borges. Saúl França made a great header on Vaiamonte FC's corner, it was just that SC Pomaraco's Roberto Bernardes managed to reach the ball for a save. Roberto Bernardes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Estrela in the 74th minute of play. Sabino Teles hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Rui Estrela managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vaiamonte FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Estrela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After 93 minutes, Hélio Saraiva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Pomaraco and the Vaiamonte FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vaiamonte FC made a substitution. Valter Frois replaced António Cerqueira. The supporters of Vaiamonte FC booed when SC Pomaraco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélio Saraiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vaiamonte FC played a much better game than SC Pomaraco and deserved their victory. The SC Pomaraco players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
