In the 7th minute of the match Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos got a corner. Dragon Blue's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. The referee ignored Dragon Blue's protests and gave Sandro Soveral a yellow card for diving instead. Sandro Soveral kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 11th match minute, Dragon Blue was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandro Soveral to maneuver through the defense. Dragon Blue's Afonso Quadros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manuel Carneiro in the 12th minute of play. Miguel Poças took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Afonso Quadros. Afonso Quadros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Manuel Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Afonso Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Carneiro in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Humberto Fiúza notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos's Leandro Meireles. Leandro Meireles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Manuel Carneiro hit a great ball. In the 36th match minute, Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eurico Aleixo to maneuver through the defense. Leandro Meireles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Soveral, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Sandro Soveral made the kick off in the second half. Leandro Meireles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandro Soveral in the 52nd minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Lima during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Humberto Fiúza scored 3-1 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leandro Meireles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 76 minutes of play, Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos's Manuel Carneiro made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Afonso Quadros was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Dragon Blue defense, Miguel Poças kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Afonso Quadros. The Dragon Blue fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Afonso Quadros should have stopped the shot. Dragon Blue's Afonso Quadros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Dragon Blue from getting a goal against them. After 90 minutes, Geraldo Guarda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos and the Dragon Blue players grew even worse after the yellow card.
