The audience thought a goal was coming when Adão Neto got free with Leandro Meireles in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Miguel Poças had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos's Leandro Meireles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Nunes in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos's Bernardo Rebocho seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Bernardo Rebocho the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Bernardo Rebocho had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 40th minute. Penalty! Miguel Poças who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Paulo Bernardes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After having played for 81 minutes, Miguel Poças managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Poças was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 92nd minute, Miguel Poças ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Bernardes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. In the 98th play minute Miguel Poças came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Paulo Bernardes. 1-5. Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos played a much better game than Porto Sport Club and deserved their victory. The Porto Sport Club players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
