In a very dangerous position, a player in Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 7th minute. Penalty! In the 12th minute, Gervásio Lucena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Manuel Carneiro took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Paulo Bernardes to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Porto Sport Club booed when Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Poças got free with Paulo Bernardes in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adão Neto in the 31st minute of play forced Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos's goalkeeper Leandro Meireles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Bernardes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Miguel Poças in the 33rd minute. 34 minutes into the game, Gervásio Lucena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Porto Sport Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos the free kick. In the 35th minute, Miguel Poças got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Miguel Poçass short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Paulo Bernardes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Miguel Poças could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Paulo Bernardes made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Miguel Poças kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Bernardes. That made the score 4-1 in the 41 minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Manuel Carneiro took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paulo Bernardes. Paulo Bernardes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. 60 minutes into the match, Porto Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Carneiro came free, but Paulo Bernardes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Poças succeeded in the game's 61st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 6-1. Paulo Bernardes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manuel Carneiro's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Adão Neto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Leandro Meireles made a huge save. If Miguel Poças had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 80 minutes of play, Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos's Miguel Poças made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulo Bernardes was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Miguel Poças's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Bernardes was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Leandro Meireles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rui Nunes's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. In the 91st minute, Frederico Leitão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Poças in the 95th minute of play forced Porto Sport Club's goalkeeper Paulo Bernardes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
