The coaching staff of Dragon Blue protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alexandre Avelar had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 31 minutes Dragon Blue's goalkeeper Afonso Quadros managed, with a little bit of luck, save Basílio Pinto's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Cruz de Cristo-Carvalhos's Basílio Pinto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Afonso Quadros. That made the score 1-0 after 31 minutes of play. Juvenal Queiroga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute.
