The supporters of SEGAFREDO CF booed when S.João de Areias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Prestes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the S.João de Areias defense, Homero Cerqueira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yusuf Ziya Sertaç. The S.João de Areias fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yusuf Ziya Sertaç should have stopped the shot. In the 7th minute Gentil Malheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yusuf Ziya Sertaç saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to S.João de Areias getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Bonifacio Aznar hit a great ball. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Homero Cerqueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, S.João de Areias's Bonifacio Aznar got a free kick in the 14th minute. S.João de Areias's Yusuf Ziya Sertaç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Germano Caldas in the 19th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, SEGAFREDO CF's Germano Caldas broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Homero Cerqueira went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After 35 played minutes SEGAFREDO CF got a freekick which was hit by Homero Cerqueira. S.João de Areias's Yusuf Ziya Sertaç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raúl Cavalcante in the 37th minute of play. With a little luck, SEGAFREDO CF's Marius Søndenå got control of the ball when Ferenc van Nistelrooij tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind S.João de Areias's goalkeeper Yusuf Ziya Sertaç, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ferenc van Nistelrooij made a kick off. 58 minutes into the match, SEGAFREDO CF's goal looked a bit too open when Ferenc van Nistelrooij came free, but Marius Søndenå reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raúl Cavalcante got free with Yusuf Ziya Sertaç in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raúl Cavalcante in the 62nd minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Homero Cerqueira couldn't finish the play. In the 70th minute Germano Caldas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yusuf Ziya Sertaç saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Germano Caldas's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Filipe Pimenta hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Homero Cerqueira in the 74th minute of play forced S.João de Areias's goalkeeper Yusuf Ziya Sertaç to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Germano Caldas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. S.João de Areias's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Homero Cerqueira 79 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-5. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Raúl Cavalcante took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Yusuf Ziya Sertaç to make any attempt to save it. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl Cavalcante in the 88th minute of play. The supporters of SEGAFREDO CF booed when S.João de Areias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Noel Menezes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Salvador Viegas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marius Søndenå read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 96th minute, which inside left pole to 0-7. When the match was over SEGAFREDO CF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than S.João de Areias throughout the match.
