GOODBYE's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S.João de Areias the free kick. A collision led to GOODBYE getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Roberto Sequeira hit a great ball. In the 7th minute, S.João de Areias's Bonifacio Aznar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bonifacio Aznar in the 13th minute of play forced GOODBYE's goalkeeper Alexandre Chagas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ferenc van Nistelrooij succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 14th playminute. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reginaldo Vilhena, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute, a hard, long distance shot from Rubim Vital hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. 25 minutes in the game, Bonifacio Aznar fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Alexandre Chagas having to interfere. S.João de Areias's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A collision led to GOODBYE getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Armindo Regueira hit a great ball. Ferenc van Nistelrooij scored 3-0 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alexandre Chagas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alexandre Chagas made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Ferenc van Nistelrooij sent off a good shot on target. 43 minutes into the game, Bonifacio Aznar recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Alexandre Chagas. Bonifacio Aznar showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Alexandre Chagas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bonifacio Aznar in the 48th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ferenc van Nistelrooij stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the GOODBYE defense, Ferenc van Nistelrooij kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexandre Chagas. The GOODBYE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexandre Chagas should have stopped the shot. Alexandre Chagas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Salvador Viegas, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. A collision led to S.João de Areias getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Salvador Viegas hit a great ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in GOODBYE fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 65th minute. Penalty! Alexandre Chagas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bonifacio Aznar, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 78 minutes into the game, Catarino Guterres recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Yusuf Ziya Sertaç. Catarino Guterres showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 7-1. In the 82nd minute, Bonifacio Aznar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S.João de Areias fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-1. In the 85thth minute of the game Salvador Viegas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GOODBYE's Alexandre Chagas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ferenc van Nistelrooij took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alexandre Chagas. Alexandre Chagas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 9-1. Ferenc van Nistelrooij struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Alexandre Chagas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for S.João de Areias. S.João de Areias's Ferenc van Nistelrooij got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the GOODBYE defense, Bonifacio Aznar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alexandre Chagas. The GOODBYE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alexandre Chagas should have stopped the shot. Bonifacio Aznar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Alexandre Chagas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
