Valentim Branco hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Raúl Cavalcante dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luís Sacramento, 1-0. Luís Sacramento was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Raúl Cavalcante showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 14 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raúl Cavalcante in the 20th minute of play forced Penedo's goalkeeper Luís Sacramento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd match minute, Penedo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesário Curado to maneuver through the defense. Valentim Branco hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After 24 played minutes Penedo got a freekick which was hit by Germano Vilanova. After having played for 26 minutes, Nuno Ávila managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SEGAFREDO CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Ávila was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Manuel Benevides took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Sacramento. Luís Sacramento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Penedo's Luís Sacramento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Penedo from getting a goal against them. In the 40th match minute, Penedo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulino Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the match, Manuel Benevides dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luís Sacramento, 6-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valentim Branco to make the kick off. Afonso Portugal came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Adalberto Abreu could save by the left post. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Penedo's goalkeeper Luís Sacramento, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. João Esteves kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. If Manuel Benevides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, SEGAFREDO CF's Alexandre Paiva got a free kick in the 63rd minute. The long shot by Laurentino Bento in the 65th minute really tested Adalberto Abreu's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 67th minute, Afonso Portugal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adalberto Abreu was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-1. A hard shot 69 in the game by Paulino Pinheiro from a close distance when the talented Adalberto Abreu managed to make a qualified save. SEGAFREDO CF's players were relieved. After 71 minutes of play Penedo's Cesário Curado was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Penedo getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Cesário Curado hit a great ball. SEGAFREDO CF's Adalberto Abreu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save SEGAFREDO CF from getting a goal against them. Luís Sacramento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Ávila, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adalberto Abreu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulino Pinheiro in the 81st minute. The supporters of Penedo booed when SEGAFREDO CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germano Caldas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Raúl Cavalcante had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Sacramento. Penedo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raúl Cavalcante was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-1. If Manuel Benevides had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Raúl Cavalcante put it in 8-1 from a short distance just to the right of Luís Sacramento.
