In the 10th minute Artur Caldas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sálvio Amaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 21 minutes of play, AD FAFE's Artur Caldas made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sálvio Amaro was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the REAL MADRID defense, Artur Caldas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sálvio Amaro. The REAL MADRID fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sálvio Amaro should have stopped the shot. In the 31st match minute, REAL MADRID was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Timóteo Monsanto to maneuver through the defense. 31 minutes into the match, Raul Sales had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sálvio Amaro. REAL MADRID's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raul Sales was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Gonçalo Freire sped through REAL MADRID's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sálvio Amaro. Jacinto Ponte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sálvio Amaro having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Jacinto Ponte left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AD FAFE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. After a defensive mix-up in REAL MADRID's zone, Artur Caldas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sálvio Amaro came out of the goal and Artur Caldas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 46 minutes into the match, AD FAFE's Artur Caldas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sálvio Amaro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-7 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Artur Caldas took a quick shot and it went in 0-9 without a chance for Sálvio Amaro to make any attempt to save it. Filomeno Santana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laurentino Caldeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Artur Caldas struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Sálvio Amaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AD FAFE. 74 minutes into the game, Virgílio Ferro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. REAL MADRID's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AD FAFE the free kick. Jacinto Ponte who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Sálvio Amaro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Timóteo Monsanto hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. 100 minutes into the game, AD FAFE's Jacinto Ponte nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sálvio Amaro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-13. The REAL MADRID fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. AD FAFE were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
