The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Carlinhos Giménez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dark Wolves FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlinhos Giménez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Viegas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 6 minutes into the match, Rogério Vigário notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Dark Wolves FC's Tomislav Kardum. Tomislav Kardum was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 8th minute, Israel Vito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rogério Vigários short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Tomislav Kardum to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Rogério Vigário received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Tomislav Kardum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dark Wolves FC's Tomislav Kardum proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Dark Wolves FC from getting a goal against them. Rogério Vigário struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Tomislav Kardum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Açores e Benfica. Dark Wolves FC's Tomislav Kardum proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Dark Wolves FC from getting a goal against them. In the 26th minute, Sport Açores e Benfica's Egídio Mesquita seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Egídio Mesquita the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Sport Açores e Benfica protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Egídio Mesquita had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 26th minute, one of Sport Açores e Benfica:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Sport Açores e Benfica. In the 30th minute, Jacob Rocha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacob Rocha struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. In the 44th minute Carlinhos Giménez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Viegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. David Soveral was extremely unlucky when he, in the 46th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David Soveral to strike the kick off in the second half. Tomislav Kardum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Soveral, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Sérgio Viegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Israel Vito in the 57th minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Sport Açores e Benfica players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
