Geriatricos FC's Horácio Festas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Plácido Onofre in the 22nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Geriatricos FC's Vítor Benevides got a free kick in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romão Ornelas in the 27th minute of play forced Geriatricos FC's goalkeeper Horácio Festas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horácio Festas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Plácido Onofre in the 29th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Picote FC's zone, Jacob Lessa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norberto Barbosa came out of the goal and Jacob Lessa tried to chip the ball over his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Plácido Onofre in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Horácio Festas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Horácio Festas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valério Monteiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Romão Ornelas made a precise shot to the right of Horácio Festas. Geriatricos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Horácio Festas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimas Castelo Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romão Ornelas to make the kick off. Geriatricos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacob Lessa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norberto Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 57 played minutes Geriatricos FC got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Mascarenhas. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gentil Bernardes during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Picote FC's Severiano Brites got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Picote FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
