A very good chance. 10 minutes into the game, Hélder Gaspar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Gervásio Varanda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 14 minutes into the match, Herois Do Mar's goal looked a bit too open when Hélder Gaspar came free, but Gervásio Varanda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute, Patrício Sequeira made a precise shot to the right of Gervásio Varanda. Herois Do Mar's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 18 minutes into the match, Hélder Gaspar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gervásio Varanda. Herois Do Mar's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hélder Gaspar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 21st minute, Patrício Sequeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hélder Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gervásio Varanda having to interfere. 26 minutes into the match, Patrício Sequeira notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Herois Do Mar's Gervásio Varanda. Gervásio Varanda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gervásio Varanda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrício Sequeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulino Miguéis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gervásio Varanda having to interfere. In the last second Gervásio Varanda throw himself and got hold of the ball when Patrício Sequeira in the 51stth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Gervásio Varanda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Gaspar in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute of the match SC Varzim got a corner. Herois Do Mar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sérgio Damásio ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led SC Varzim's Sérgio Damásio to fire away a dangerous shot which Gervásio Varanda despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Patrício Sequeira was extremely unlucky when he, in the 60th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Hélder Gaspar, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 63 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Gervásio Varanda was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hélder Gaspar got free with Gervásio Varanda in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. But to his dismay, Patrício Sequeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10. Hélder Gaspar took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gervásio Varanda. Gervásio Varanda dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-12. If Patrício Sequeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Patrício Sequeira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gervásio Varanda came out and tried to block the shot, but Patrício Sequeira slotted it home off the left post making it 0-13 in the 90th minute. Herois Do Mar's Gervásio Varanda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder Gaspar in the 95th minute of play. Gervásio Varanda was a little too slow when Hélder Gaspar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 0-14. The Herois Do Mar fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. SC Varzim were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
