The audience thought a goal was coming when Alcino Jesus got free with Tamás Albert in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 11 minutes into the game, Gil Vilhena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ponte do Carro's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lidador F.C. the free kick. Armindo Maltez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danilo Pinho in the 15th minute of play. The supporters of Lidador F.C. booed when Ponte do Carro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adélio Brites didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Loukianos Livas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tamás Albert. Lidador F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Loukianos Livas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Danilo Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lidador F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Danilo Pinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armindo Maltez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armindo Maltez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delfim Oliveira in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Pinho in the 29th minute of play forced Ponte do Carro's goalkeeper Armindo Maltez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armindo Maltez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danilo Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Delfim Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Armindo Maltez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Danilo Pinho was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Lidador F.C. defense, Simão Boaventura kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tamás Albert. The Lidador F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tamás Albert should have stopped the shot. Ponte do Carro's Armindo Maltez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Ponte do Carro from getting a goal against them. In the 56th minute, Lidador F.C.'s Danilo Pinho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Armindo Maltez. Armindo Maltez yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Delfim Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armindo Maltez having to interfere. Tamás Albert made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Peixoto in the 64th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 65 minutes, Armindo Maltez successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Ponte do Carro's Luís Falcão got a free kick in the 66th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Mário Maia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Armindo Maltez. That made the score 2-3 in the 69 minute of play. Delfim Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armindo Maltez having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Danilo Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lidador F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Danilo Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Ponte do Carro's Armindo Maltez got control of the ball when Delfim Oliveira tried to sneak it across the goal line. 88 minutes in the game, Delfim Oliveira dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Armindo Maltez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Tamás Albert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Palmiro Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Lidador F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
