Miguel Madruga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Laureano Rijo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laureano Rijo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Palmiro Bettencourt's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Miguel Madruga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Laureano Rijo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the A.D.ESMOJÃES defense, Miguel Madruga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laureano Rijo. The A.D.ESMOJÃES fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laureano Rijo should have stopped the shot. 26 minutes into the match, A.D.ESMOJÃES's goal looked a bit too open when Palmiro Bettencourt came free, but Laureano Rijo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palmiro Bettencourt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Atlético Micaelense's Gervásio Sousa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Micaelense from getting a goal against them. After 35 minutes Atlético Micaelense's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Éder Palma who took care of the corner kick. The corner led A.D.ESMOJÃES's Eduardo Bulhosa to fire away a dangerous shot which Gervásio Sousa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Gervásio Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassiano Brochado, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Palmiro Bettencourt in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laureano Rijo saved A.D.ESMOJÃES from getting behind. If Klaus Van Mellart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Palmiro Bettencourt to make the kick off. With a little luck, A.D.ESMOJÃES's Laureano Rijo got control of the ball when Palmiro Bettencourt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonas Garcia in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gervásio Sousa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Madruga got free with Laureano Rijo in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gabriel Paredes kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. A.D.ESMOJÃES's Laureano Rijo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andrei Marioara in the 60th minute of play. After having played for 65 minutes, Palmiro Bettencourt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Micaelense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Palmiro Bettencourt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th minute A.D.ESMOJÃES were awarded a corner. Éder Palma went to the cornerflag to take it. Palmiro Bettencourt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Laureano Rijo made a huge save. In the 75th minute, Israel Póvoas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, A.D.ESMOJÃES's Israel Póvoas got a free kick in the 76th minute. Laureano Rijo was a little too slow when Klaus Van Mellart got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Garcia in the 84th minute of play forced Atlético Micaelense's goalkeeper Gervásio Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85th minute A.D.ESMOJÃES were awarded a corner. Éder Palma went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on A.D.ESMOJÃES's corner Eduardo Bulhosa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gervásio Sousa quite easily take care of the ball. Leal Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After 91 minutes, Tiburcio Chayo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the A.D.ESMOJÃES and the Atlético Micaelense players grew even worse after the yellow card.
