A hard shot 10 in the game by Cassiano Brochado from a close distance when the talented Diego Alves managed to make a qualified save. S.L.Benfica's players were relieved. With his leg Diego Alves managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when A.D.ESMOJÃES's Cassiano Brochado fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonas Garcia got free with Diego Alves in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diego Alves made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Cassiano Brochado sent off a good shot on target. With an all-out effort, A.D.ESMOJÃES's Diego Alves threw himself towards the right post 18 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jonas Garcia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 18th minute, Jonas Garcia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diego Alves was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a rather tough play, A.D.ESMOJÃES's Tiburcio Chayo got a free kick in the 21st minute. S.L.Benfica's Yani Vlaev got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. S.L.Benfica's Diego Alves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save S.L.Benfica from getting a goal against them. In the 36thth minute of the game Yani Vlaev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A.D.ESMOJÃES's Laureano Rijo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. S.L.Benfica were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after A.D.ESMOJÃES's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Telmo Modesto took the corner. The corner ended in Telmo Modesto almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but A.D.ESMOJÃES's Laureano Rijo did a great save. In the 42nd minute Carol Valentine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laureano Rijo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led S.L.Benfica's Telmo Modesto to fire away a dangerous shot which Laureano Rijo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Yani Vlaev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Laureano Rijo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Diego Alves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduardo Bulhosa in the 53rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Simões got free with Laureano Rijo in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yani Vlaev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Souto charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ricardo Souto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 70th minute, Ricardo Souto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yani Vlaev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. S.L.Benfica's Telmo Modesto managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Eduardo Bulhosa in the 81 minute of the game. S.L.Benfica's Diego Alves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eduardo Bulhosa in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute Eduardo Bulhosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Alves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Humberto Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diego Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Bulhosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. A collision led to A.D.ESMOJÃES getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Ricardo Souto hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yani Vlaev in the 89th minute of play forced A.D.ESMOJÃES's goalkeeper Laureano Rijo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. A.D.ESMOJÃES fully deserved thier win.
