MEXACOMX's Januário Rangel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Madruga in the 21st minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Atlético Micaelense's Klaus Van Mellart nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Madruga in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Januário Rangel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-6.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Palmiro Bettencourt to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Klaus Van Mellart got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 57 played minutes MEXACOMX got a freekick which was hit by Damaso Palben. After some careless play in the MEXACOMX defense, Klaus Van Mellart kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Januário Rangel. The MEXACOMX fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Januário Rangel should have stopped the shot. MEXACOMX made a substitution. Ricardo Guerra replaced Tomás Jordão. 69 minutes into the match, Atlético Micaelense's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Guerra came free, but Gervásio Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute Ricardo Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gervásio Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 81 minutes, Leal Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Micaelense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leal Cabral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 85 minutes into the match, MEXACOMX's Ricardo Guerra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gervásio Sousa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Leal Cabral's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Januário Rangel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Atlético Micaelense's Gervásio Sousa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricardo Guerra in the 88th minute of play. In the 89th match minute, MEXACOMX was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murilo Costa to maneuver through the defense.
