In the 12th match minute, Mindelos Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mateusz Paciuszko to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Herbert Mindykowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barbeita FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Herbert Mindykowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Márcio Varanda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herbert Mindykowski in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Márcio Varanda saved Mindelos Academy from getting behind. Barbeita FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miguel Veloso in the 17th minute. In the 17th minute, Herbert Hammarström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herbert Mindykowski in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Márcio Varanda saved Mindelos Academy from getting behind. Barbeita FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Miguel Veloso in the 29th minute. The corner led Barbeita FC's Ivo Pinho to fire away a dangerous shot which Márcio Varanda despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ivo Pinho scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Márcio Varanda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Herbert Mindykowski in the 33rd minute of play forced Mindelos Academy's goalkeeper Márcio Varanda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 39 minutes Mindelos Academy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Miguel Veloso who took care of the corner kick. 41 minutes into the match, Mindelos Academy's goal looked a bit too open when Herbert Hammarström came free, but Márcio Varanda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Laurentino Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Herbert Hammarström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Márcio Varanda having to interfere.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Laurentino Fontes made a kick off. Wilhelm Bure made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeo Roßberger in the 52nd minute of play. Wilhelm Bure showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Henriques, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Herbert Mindykowski could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Márcio Varanda made a huge save. Herbert Mindykowski struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Márcio Varanda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barbeita FC. Márcio Varanda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herbert Mindykowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. If Adriano Henriques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Barbeita FC's Nejat Eronat shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 93rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Márcio Varanda but with some difficulty. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Barbeita FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
