Dimas Campos started the match with the kick off. Éder Moita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xiao Ping Nan in the 3rd minute of play. In the 5th minute of the match Academia EFC got a corner. S.C. Canidelense's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. José Azeredo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Freddie Mercury was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Xiao Ping Nan put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Éder Moita. Éder Moita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dumitru Bodiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute Honorato Zambujal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Caldas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. S.C. Canidelense's Éder Moita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddie Mercury in the 23rd minute of play. Éder Moita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xiao Ping Nan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, S.C. Canidelense's goal looked a bit too open when Freddie Mercury came free, but Éder Moita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Éder Moita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xiao Ping Nan, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Éder Moita came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Academia EFC's Dumitru Bodiu. But to his dismay, Dumitru Bodiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Éder Moita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dumitru Bodiu in the 42nd minute of the match. 44 minutes into the game, one of S.C. Canidelense:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Éder Moita had in the 45thth minute some difficulties stopping José Azeredo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball.

The wind increased when Xiao Ping Nan made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, S.C. Canidelense's Éder Moita got control of the ball when Freddie Mercury tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 53 minutes S.C. Canidelense's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was José Azeredo who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of S.C. Canidelense's goalie and right to Freddie Mercury. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. S.C. Canidelense's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Thanks to some nice moves Dumitru Bodiu could shoot a difficult shot in the 56th minute, which Éder Moita however easily saved by the left post. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Éder Moita successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The audience was convinced that Freddie Mercury's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Éder Moita was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. If Dumitru Bodiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, S.C. Canidelense's Éder Moita got control of the ball when Dumitru Bodiu tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a little luck, S.C. Academia EFC were awarded a corner in the 88th minute after S.C. Canidelense's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. José Azeredo took the corner. The corner ended in José Azeredo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but S.C. Canidelense's Éder Moita did a great save. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by S.C. Canidelense's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. José Azeredo was slow to take the kick. During this time Academia EFC's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Academia EFC's corner José Azeredo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Éder Moita quite easily take care of the ball. 93 minutes into the match, S.C. Canidelense's goalkeeper Éder Moita had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dumitru Bodiu. After 94 minutes, Leal Madruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the S.C. Canidelense and the Academia EFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th minute, Leal Madruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The S.C. Canidelense fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Academia EFC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
