The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorato Zambujal in the 2nd minute of play forced Academia EFC's goalkeeper Nuno Caldas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 5 in the game by Dumitru Bodiu from a close distance when the talented Stanislaw Tyszka managed to make a qualified save. S.C. Canidelense's players were relieved. Academia EFC's Lóránd Zsinka got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Lóránd Zsinka managed to get in a good position for a shot. Academia EFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lóránd Zsinka was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanislaw Tyszka breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stanislaw Tyszka was out of position in the 13 minute of play, and Lóránd Zsinka capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lóránd Zsinka really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. A collision led to S.C. Canidelense getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Mariano Flores hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute Freddie Mercury shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislaw Tyszka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lourenço Valente sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Academia EFC's Nuno Caldas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Honorato Zambujal in the 30th minute of play. Ilídio Macena tried to clear up in front of Stanislaw Tyszka but instead he got an unlucky hit on the ball which made it go via the left pole into goal meaning 2-0 in the 40th matchminute. A very disappointing self made goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Radomil Grabowicz to make the kick off. Nuno Caldas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Honorato Zambujal in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Academia EFC's Percival Pombal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stanislaw Tyszka narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Percival Pombal in the 58th minute of play forced S.C. Canidelense's goalkeeper Stanislaw Tyszka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute of the match Academia EFC got a corner. S.C. Canidelense's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. José Azeredo ran over to the corner to take the kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorato Zambujal in the 64th minute of play forced Academia EFC's goalkeeper Nuno Caldas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute José Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislaw Tyszka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 71stth minute of the game Lóránd Zsinka who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S.C. Canidelense's Stanislaw Tyszka was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Academia EFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by José Azeredo in the 72nd minute. The corner led Academia EFC's José Azeredo to fire away a dangerous shot which Stanislaw Tyszka despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 74 minutes into the game, Lóránd Zsinka cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Stanislaw Tyszka was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Stanislaw Tyszka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lóránd Zsinka in the 78th minute of play. Radomil Grabowicz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lóránd Zsinka in the 80th minute of play forced S.C. Canidelense's goalkeeper Stanislaw Tyszka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Academia EFC's Nuno Caldas got control of the ball when Radomil Grabowicz tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Radomil Grabowicz took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Nuno Caldas to make any attempt to save it. Stanislaw Tyszka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dumitru Bodiu in the 91st minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Academia EFC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
