In the 36th minute Angel Cordarrel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu De Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeu De Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angel Cordarrel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Balas F.C. defense, Christopher Radtke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isidro Madureira. The Balas F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isidro Madureira should have stopped the shot. In the 45th minute, Felix Baicu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Balas F.C.'s Isidro Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Baicu in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Romeu De Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Raul Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute.
