In the 11th minute Adélio Seabra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isidro Madureira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Ferrão, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 19 minutes into the match, Balas F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Dário Baptista came free, but Isidro Madureira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Krasimir Balakov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Henrique Tinoco made a huge save. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hiperbórea! The goalkeeper, Henrique Tinoco, was totally fooled by Balas F.C.'s Wilson Trigueiro, who 26 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Henrique Tinoco made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Krasimir Balakov sent off a good shot on target. Isidro Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 石德远 in the 30th minute of play. Balas F.C.'s Isidro Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kostas Loizos in the 33rd minute of play. After 34 minutes Balas F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dário Baptista who took care of the corner kick. After 37 played minutes Hiperbórea got a freekick which was hit by Zacarias Pádua. Balas F.C.'s Isidro Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adélio Seabra in the 43rd minute of play. Isidro Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adélio Seabra, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The supporters of Balas F.C. booed when Hiperbórea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corneliu Magheru didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Hiperbórea's Corneliu Magheru got a free kick in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matias Aleixo in the 77th minute of play forced Hiperbórea's goalkeeper Henrique Tinoco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Balas F.C.'s Isidro Madureira got control of the ball when Kostas Loizos tried to sneak it across the goal line.
