The audience thought a goal was coming when Christos Koumantarakis got free with Modestas Gotautas in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Modestas Gotautas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Christos Koumantarakis in the 6th minute. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Fabiano Esteves put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Shelton Knutson. In the 10thth minute of the game Fabiano Esteves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Benfica VN's Shelton Knutson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hélder Novais kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Lisandro Brochado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shelton Knutson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After having played for 16 minutes, Lisandro Brochado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sport Clube Encarnacense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lisandro Brochado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 17th minute Fabiano Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shelton Knutson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabiano Esteves scored 0-3 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Shelton Knutson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 24th minute, Lisandro Brochado ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shelton Knutson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. Eurico Melo charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eurico Melo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Shelton Knutson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Brochado in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Sport Clube Encarnacense booed when Benfica VN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eurico Melo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute of the match Fabiano Esteves shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Shelton Knutson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Benfica VN's Sálvio Carvalheira got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 39thth minute of the game Lisandro Brochado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Benfica VN's Shelton Knutson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Evandro Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shelton Knutson came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Sport Clube Encarnacense's Fabiano Esteves. But to his dismay, Fabiano Esteves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. In the 47th match minute, Sport Clube Encarnacense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério Soeiro to maneuver through the defense. Modestas Gotautas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christos Koumantarakis in the 48th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christos Koumantarakis was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, Fabiano Esteves fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Shelton Knutson, passed just outside the right post. Shelton Knutson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Lisandro Brochado who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Shelton Knutson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 66 played minutes Benfica VN got a freekick which was hit by Hipólito Leal. In the 67th minute, Hélder Novais hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70th play minute Lisandro Brochado came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Shelton Knutson. 0-7. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lisandro Brochado in the 73rd minute of play forced Benfica VN's goalkeeper Shelton Knutson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th match minute, Benfica VN was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Máximo Toscano to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute when Joaquim Valadares was dribbling his way through Benfica VN's defense he got a clear chance for a shot, but the shot went just outside the left post. Shelton Knutson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano Esteves, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Benfica VN:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Sport Clube Encarnacense:s goal. In the 94th minute of the match, Fabiano Esteves tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Shelton Knutson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the final whistle sounded Sport Clube Encarnacense left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Benfica VN.
